I am so happy to see Jeffrey Saad on the Cooking Channel! I was really pulling for him on The Next Food Network Star Season Five.
He now has a show called United Tastes of America. If you have the Cooking Channel, go and check it out.
Oh and I also noticed that Kelsey from season four now has her own show on the Cooking Channel. Her show is called Kelsey's Essentials.
So who is looking forward to season seven? The season will premier on Sunday June 5th.

The Great Food Truck Race?
Did anyone else watch the series, The Great Food Truck race on Food Network?
I watched it the first night and was hooked. I was surprised at the finale that Nom Nom didn't win.

Cooking Channel & Chefography
I am really in love with the new Cooking Channel on FIOS. I think I have said in previous entries, I am just burnt out on Food Network. I have been enjoying their sister channel, the Cooking Channel. They have reruns of old shows and have a great selection of new shows.
Last night I watched and older episode of Chefography about Guy Fieri. I remember watching him on the Next Food Network Star and I picked him from the very first episode. There was just something about him.
If you have a chance, you should check it out.

The Next Food Network Star
I have to say that some seasons have been a real hit or miss with me. This season was a hit for me. I really enjoyed Aarti from the start. Towards the end of the season, I really liked Herb. I thought his pilot was very good!
Tom...well I just didn't enjoy him. His concept to me was a mix between season 4 winner Aaron McCargo and season 2 winner Guy Fieri and seriously there is only ONE Guy Fieri.
What are your thoughts on this past season?
Season five runner up was Jeffrey and I saw him on one of Bobby Flay's shows and I really enjoyed watching him. To bad he doesn't have a show on Food Network or their sister channel Food Channel, like some of the past runner ups/dismissed contestants (Adam Gertler and Kelsey Nixon will be having a show)

Food Network and Cooking Channel
For years I have been a devoted Food Network fan that is until recently. Some of you may have seen my vents on my Facebook status about it should be renamed Food Challenge Network. I used to also be a fan on Facebook but recently "unliked" them. They would post some some nice things and the "fans" would put all sorts of off topic and disgusting crap in the comments.
Well feeling very dissatisfied with them I haven't watched them in weeks.
Along comes the Cooking Channel and it is from the same people as Food Network and I am thinking "Oh great" in a very sarcastic tone.
I must say that I have been pleasantly surprised with the shows. Some are new and some are old Food Network shows that I loved. Just the other day I was watching an old episode of Melting Pot with Rocco DiSpirto and Cat Cora, you could tell they were so new to TV. One other time I flipped the channel and there was a very old episode of the Galloping Gourmet.
You should check the Cooking Channel out some time and let me know what you think.
