Toll House Cookie Bars with a Valentines Twist

Have you ever heard of Shopkicks?  It is an app that you can get "kicks" for walking into certain stores and scanning items.  You then can turn your "kicks" into gift cards.

Well the other day I was at Target doing my scanning and one of the items that I had to scan was Valentine M&M's.  I thought they were so cute that I needed to pick up a package.

So yesterday I made the standard Toll House Cookie Dough and added in 3/4 of the Valentine M&M's

Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs

Preheat oven to 375° F.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in M&M's

PAN COOKIE VARIATION:

Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Press on the other 1/4 package of M&Ms.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Makes 4 dozen bars.
